Letter: Missouri making headway on shared parenting

Missouri made great improvement, going from a C+ in 2019 to an A today! That improvement came mostly because of our 2023 law bringing a rebuttable presumption of equal physical custody in cases of divorce with children. Anecdotally, I have heard from many parents across this State saying the presumption decreased the emotional and financial cost of their divorce. It was just assumed that the children would get equal time with their parents. How lucky for these children and parents! This presumption promotes fairness and reduces conflict.
