Former Peekskill Mayor To Chair NY Chapter Of Parenting Organization

Former Peekskill Mayor André Rainey has accepted a new position as chairman of the National Parents Organization, New York affiliate.

He said Thursday he was proud to announce the new endeavor — one that is near and dear to his heart.

“The work the organization has done, the reaserch and data-based facts, gives me pride in my views of the real best interest of our youth after divorce or separation,” Rainey said.

“My personal experiences have driving me to the fight for justice, however, not for myself, but for my children and yours,” he said.

Rainey, who is currently vice president of Fathers Are Important, said he will be traveling the entire state during the next six months to increase awareness and support and to addres any myths or answer any questions about what the organization stands for.
